An inspirational love story of Sudha Murthy and Narayan Murthy
Very few are aware of Sudha Murthy, a renowned Indian author and philanthropist.
- She is an author of writing more than 92 books in almost every Indian language
- She is the chair person of Infosys foundation. She was also the first woman engineer in TELCO(now TATA MOTORS).
- She is basically known for her philanthropic work through Infosys foundation.
Just like many ,she also has love relationship with Narayan Murthy who later became founder of Infosys after their marriage.
She has immense contribution behind her husband’s success.
Their relationship tells us that honesty and true commitment towards love is all above.

Narayan was a shy and introvert type of person and while Sudha was completely opposite , extrovert and out spoken girl.
On that time Sudha was working in TELCO ( now TATA MOTORS) ,Pune branch. She had meet with Narayan through a mutual friend Prasanna who was also training in TELCO and presently he is Wipro Chief.
On the day Narayan invited Sudha and her friends for a dinner .As Sudha was the only girl in that group , so she was reluctant at first ,but later, Narayan convinced her to come.
Date Night:
They soon became friends by sharing Murthy’s foreign visit and books he had read.
Propose day:
After that Murthy kept on trying to impress Sudha and one fine day he proposed Sudha by saying she was a bright , beautiful and intelligent girl and also told about his family and financial status.
She kept him waiting and went Hubli , her hometown. She shared with her parents .Though her parents didn’t agree at first because of Murthy’s job status , But finally , a day has been fixed when Sudha’s parents called Murthy for a meet in Pune at 10 am.
Things Went wrong:
Murthy was unable to turn up at time and got two hours late which made Sudha’s father furiated.Later they discussed about his career and family. But her father put a condition until and unless Narayan found a steady job ,he would not agree to give his daughter’s hand to him.
At the same time ,Murthy said he would not do any such things if any person wanted him to do.
Murthy’ Struggle :
Murthy was always broken on those days.
Later he left his research assistant job and at the end of 1977 he took up a job as general manager at Patni Computers in Bombay.

Murthy wanted to get married with Sudha before going for US.As he was earing good , Sudha’s father gave consent .They both got tied at Murthy’s house in Bangalore on February 10,1978 with equal contribution from both families. Wedding price was 800 rupees and only their family attended the ceremony.
Murthy founded Infosys:
Murthy was passionate to creating software and in 1981 , he wanted to start Infosys with his six colleagues. She supported him from all to continue fulling his dream.
They purchased a small house on loan which later became the Infosys office In 1982 .she moved to Pune with Murty leaving Telco and joined as Senior Systems Analyst with Walchand group of Industries to support the house. She worked as clerk , cook as well as programmer to help her husband in every possible way.
Finally in 1983 Infosys got first client, MICO in Bangalore.
This hard working couple stepped together and did a lot to set up Infosys.
Later Sudha realized that one is needed to take care their family so she gave up her career and became a homemaker. It was a big sacrifice she had made .Still Murthy says,

They had son Rohan Murthy and daughter Akshata Murthy.
Murthy was blessed with lady love who always gave constant support and sacrifice.
